Hi, my name is Penny Baker and I'm the Business/Computer Teacher here at Nute High School. I will be starting my 11th year here and I am loving it! Prior to coming to Nute, I was a secretary, then teacher at Dover High School. I worked at Dover for a total of 25 years, nine of them as a Business/Computer teacher.
This past year I became an adjunct Business teacher at Great Bay Community College and will continue this upcoming school year.
I am a resident of Milton, as well as a Nute graduate, Class of 1979. I have received my Bachelor's Degree in Business Education in 2000 from New Hampshire College and my Masters Degree in 2005 from Southern New Hampshire University. I have three grown sons, all graduates of Nute High School.
Here at Nute I am involved in a couple of activities: High School Yearbook Advisor Business Club Advisor/Nute's Got Talent Coordinator
Most of my computer classes are project-based and I act as a facilitator. Students work at their own pace. Sometimes movies are shown regarding a particular subject, and a project follows thereafter. I don't usually give quizzes or tests, with the exception of Web Page Design and business classes, such as Accounting and Business Law. Homework is never given for computer classes unless a student has an extended absence or a special circumstance.
You will find specific assignments listed in Power School. Feel free to click on the tabs above to find out more about each specific class.
