Computer Graphics
This course will focus on the theory and practice of visual elements of electronic media. Students may take and process digital still images. They will work with various image formats, e.g., BMP, TIFF, JPEG, and become familiar with the properties of each. Students will work with the GIMP program, as well as MS MovieMaker, to create simple animations, study pixel properties, layering and color options. Students will produce several projects including flyers, brochures, and greeting cards. An electronic project using PowerPoint or a web page will also be created. Students will also be introduced to Sketchup, GIMP, and other software as it becomes available.
All assignments are posted in Power School. Students work at their own pace and are graded when the project or assignment is completed. When the majority of the students have completed an assignment, the grades are posted in Power School. Zeros are placed until the assignment or project is completed. This acts as a reminder to both myself and the student that something is missing.
